Usually, when a team goes into victory formation, the other team shows respect and lets them run the clock out. Apparently, Pittsburgh Steelers safety Mike Mitchell had a different plan, opting instead to attempt a flying leap over line of scrimmage.
The New York Jets center Nick Mangold spots his attempt and wants no part of it. In a move that’s one part Diamond Dallas Page and one part Dancing with Stars, Mangold lifts Mitchell (no small guy at 210-pounds) clear over his head and tosses him like a sack of toys.
Naturally an on-field skirmish was quick to follow, and it’s continued off the field as well. Jets coach Rex Ryan is reportedly upset with the Steelers coach Mike Tomlin for this dirty play. Can you blame him?
