Darrick Skou was jamming along with his friends at his campsite in Clackamas County, Oregon when a bat came along and landed on his neck.
The bat, which turned out to be rabid, bit him once on the neck.
“Something hit me. I was concentrating on staying in time and all that and it hit me here and I kind of saw something out of my peripheral vision. And then it’s there and then it just bit me.”
It was like a cold dog nose. It was a cold bat nose, mouth, whatever. It didn’t sting. I wasn’t injected with anything. It was just a cold bite.”
Fortunately, the man was not severely injured, but will probably think twice before playing his guitar so openly in the woods in the future.
